Irländsk Afton på Mellomgården
Varmt välkomna till Irländsk afton på Mellomgården med det populära bandet Dún Aengus. Efter stor efterfrågan så kör vi igen 1 februari. Bandet börjar spela ca kl 20.00 Mellan kl 18.00-20.00 serverar vi nötfärsbiffar med potatisgratäng. Vi har rättigheter men det finns givetvis alkoholfritt alternativ också. Schlagerkväll på Mellomgården
Varmt välkomna till Mellomgården den 1 mars på Schlagerkväll. Vi börjar kvällen kl 18.00 då vi serverar kallskuren kyckling med potatisgratäng. Varnhem Monastery Church and Kata Farm

In Varnhem you will find Varnhem Monastery Church and Kata Farm, and an excursion here is a cultural experience like no other. The monastery church and its monastery were built by Cistercian monks in 1150, and over the years several Swedish kings have had their final resting place here. Varnhem, however, has an even older history. In recent years, traces of Christian Vikings have been found, and on the hill just behind the church you can visit Kata farm – the ruin of a Christian farm church from the 10th century that is probably Sweden's oldest preserved room.
In Varnhem there are also great opportunities for hiking in beautiful nature. Here passes both Billingeleden and Pilgrimsleden between Varnhem and Falköping. There are also shorter hiking trails if you prefer a light walk.
Skara Sommarland

Let yourself be swept away by all the fun at Scandinavia's largest water park! Skara Sommarland has fun activities for children of all ages and offers fast-paced family activities in the middle of Skaraborg.
Sommarland has no less than 47 attractions – ranging from fun water slides and pools to fast-paced roller coasters and dizzying carousels.
Axvalla horse racetrack
Distance: 4 km (Directions)
Axevalla horse racetrack outside Skara is one of Sweden's largest horse racetracks. Every year the Triple Race is arranged with the StoChampionate.
The cherry blossom in Valle
Distance: 5 km (Directions)
On the west side of the plateau mountain Billingen, the ice sheet has left behind the distinctive and fabulously beautiful Valle area, a lake-rich and softly rolling landscape. The green hills along Vallevägen are dressed in softest white in the spring when the many thousands of cherry trees in the area bloom.
Hiking in Valle is an experience all year round, and there are many options whether you want to hike a couple of kilometers or want to hike for several days.
Hike
A wide range of hiking trails can be found in the surrounding area around Mellomgården. If you want to go for a longer trip, the Pilgrim Trail between Varnhem and Falköping passes both Hornborgasjön and Gudhem's monastery ruins, or Billingeleden, which takes you on a lap around the fantastic plateau mountain Billingen, will be suitable for hiking.
For those who want to hike shorter day trips, there are many favorites. Some that offer beautiful nature are the historic hiking trail Rosenstigen in Varnhem (2 km), the varied trail Flämsjön around (9 km) and bolumsleden at Hornborgasjön (3.4 km).
Cycling
The cycling trails Västgötaleden and Sverigeleden run on nice country roads, and both pass near Mellomgården. Take the opportunity to explore more of the area on the bike saddle and pedal towards places like Skara Cathedral, Kinnekulle or cozy Lundsbrunn.
Outside Skara there are also several simple tours suitable for a day's cycling, and at Billingen's leisure area there are several MTB trails of varying length and difficulty.
The Cranedance at Hornborgarsjön

Hornborgasjön is considered one of Sweden's richest bird lakes and is especially known for the fact that cranes dance here annually during the spring, but the lake is seething with life and suitable for bird watching all year round. Did you know, for example, that there can be up to 50,000 migratory birds here on a normal day in the autumn, and that the cranes come back for a stopover after the summer?
The lake and its surroundings a nature reserve with hiking trails, bird towers and arranged nature experiences. On the eastern side of the lake is naturum Hornborgasjön, which has a nice exhibition about the bird and wildlife in the reserve.
Läckö Castle

On a cliff in Lake Vänern stands one of Skaraborg's main attractions. The Baroque castle Läckö Castle has an exciting history that stretches all the way back to the Middle Ages, and today you can experience the castle with all your senses. Go on guided hikes, enjoy good food, go to a concert or explore nature on Kållandsö – there is something for everyone.
A visit to Läckö is suitable for both history enthusiasts, nature enthusiasts and families with children. Children's activities are arranged at the castle, and at the adjacent naturum Vänerskärgården you can learn all about Lake Vänern and the archipelagos in the surrounding area.
Skövde Arena
Distance: 17.6 km (Directions)
Arena Skövde is a facility in Skövde that houses both the experience bath, the relaxation area Aqua Vitalis, swimming pool, bowling alley and restaurant. Here the whole family can splash and throw themselves into the waves and try the water slides, or just enjoy in warm pools. The bath has several times been named Sweden's best water park by the holiday site Barnsemester.
På Arena Skövde anordnas också konserter och andra evenemang.
Fortress of Karlsborg
Distance: 64 km (Directions)
The mighty fortress construction at Vanäs Udde in Karlsborg began in 1819. The construction period was planned for 10 years, but it was 90 years! Today, the fortress is a great destination that is perfect for the whole family, and at the Fortress of Karlsborg awaits the adventure regardless of age.
Join them on a guided tour or experience the fortress on your own. The area also has a museum, garrison church, restaurants and cosy cafés.
